“After a time Zeus developed the mother of all headaches. He howled so loudly it could be heard throughout the earth. The other gods came to see what the problem was. Hermes realized what needed to be done and directed Hephaestus to take a wedge and split open Zeus’s skull. Out of the skull sprang Athena, full grown and in a full set of armor. Due to her manor of birth she has dominion over all things of the intellect.”
There is a girl. She is beautiful, funny, has a great personality, and guess what? Lame, I’m not doing an intro from that Jude Sinahon. I’m not much of a writer but I’m doing my very best. Please bear with me. Haha!
First things first. This post is entirely dedicated to Ms. Vienna Inah Morales De Francia. It’s her special day! So basically this is another appreciation-slash-birthday post for a good friend of mine.
I could still remember my very vivid memory of her. It was in grade school, Art class, I’m not so sure. But all I know is I tried to borrow some glue from her and she refused. What a selfish bitch! Kidding.
Years passed and the memory of that fucking glue is still fresh for me. Well, maybe because I kept repeating the story to her. Haha! We were classmates. We were schoolmates. We were subdivision-mates. (Not a word, but keep trying.) All I know is I know her, and I bet she knows me. But everything changed when we were in our second year. This ‘acquaintance’ whom I know since the first grade became a good friend of mine. Wow!
I began to know her pretty well. The way she thinks, the way she acts, her positivity, her utmost creativity, her fashion sense, her passion for something she loves, well I don’t know if that’s everything. Purple-murple. I can’t express how much she loves Purple. She’s mad! She made a tattoo of her canvas within me. Believe it or not, whenever I hear someone say the word or in her case, name ‘Vienna’, I can’t help not to think about this tall, funny, crafty, headstrong girl. That’s why she reminds me of the Greek Goddess Athena.
And now, as she turns another year older, (and yeaaaaaaaaah! You’re old! Haha!) all I can wish for her is happiness, and a lot of it. It may seem that our friendship drifted for some murky time, but remember I’m still me, and I’m still here. I know whatever path she takes, she’ll do great. And like Rick Riordan’s book, this Athena will soon make her mark as a successful lady, ready to take on the world.
Happy Birthday Vienna! (Butog. Bwahaha!)
